Nurturing Your Body’s Journey

As you prepare for one of life's most profound experiences, birth, having a compassionate and knowledgeable guide can make all the difference. My approach to doula support at Atlantic Body Care is rooted in the belief that every birthing person deserves to feel informed, empowered, and compassionately cared for. I am here to serve as your consistent, non-judgmental anchor, providing emotional, physical, and informational support from early pregnancy through the early postpartum period.

A Holistic Foundation for Birthing People-

Atlantic Body Care extends beyond the typical doula scope, drawing upon extensive experience in yoga and culinary arts to offer a truly holistic package.

Embodied Movement for Comfort and Strength

My background as a certified yoga instructor is integrated directly into your birth preparation and labor.

We can work together on:

  • Breathwork (Pranayama): Utilizing specific breathing techniques to manage pain, stay present, and promote relaxation during contractions.

  • Birth Prep: Offering lots of positions to easy discomfort, increase softness and stretch in the body.

  • Active Labor Positions: Guiding you and your partner through optimal movements, in conjunction with where your baby is at in your pelvis during labour. Stretches, and positions, often using props like a birth ball or scarf, to encourage optimal fetal positioning and manage discomfort.

  • Restorative Postures: Helping you find deep rest and conserve energy during lulls in labor.

This focus on mind-body connection helps you tap into your innate wisdom and strength, turning movement into a tool for comfort and progress.

Exceptional Service at a Reasonable Price

My commitment is to be a supportive constant, offering practical tools and unwavering encouragement every step of the way:

  1. Prenatal Consultations: We’ll spend time getting to know each other, discussing your birth preferences, wishlist, comfort styles, exploring coping techniques, and creating a clear support plan with your partner or co-parent.

  2. Continuous Labor Support: I provide continuous, hands-on support from the moment you call me to your side, offering comfort measures like massage, counter-pressure, aroma, heat/cold therapy, and emotional reassurance.

  3. Partner Integration: I am a resource for your partner, helping them feel confident in their role and ensuring they have breaks and support, too. I help translate medical language and facilitate clear communication with your care team.

  4. Immediate Postpartum & Initial Feeding: I stay for 1–2 hours after birth to help with the initial bonding, establishing the first feed (if you choose to chest/breastfeed), and making sure you are settled and comfortable.

  5. Postpartum Follow-up: A visit in the first few weeks to process the birth experience, discuss newborn care and feeding, and check in on your emotional and physical well-being—often with a batch of prepared, nourishing food in hand!
